H55, an electric aviation company based in Sion, Valais, has revealed plans for an investment from the Government of Quebec. This funding would boost the company’s growth in Canada, focusing on producing modular electric drives and battery systems for aircraft. With the investment from Investissement Québec, H55 aims to expand its production, engineering, and research activities in Canada. This move is part of Quebec’s strategy to enhance clean energy storage solutions and promote a shift towards a low-carbon energy system.

Quebec is rich in clean energy resources and is committed to advancing sustainable aviation in the region. The investment will support the launch of the first battery packs by the end of 2024. Additionally, it will strengthen H55 Canada’s ongoing partnerships with major clients like Pratt & Whitney Canada, CAE, and Harbour Air.

André Borschberg, co-founder of H55, highlighted the benefits of Quebec’s Aerospace Innovation Zone, which connects companies and academic institutions to foster advancements in aviation. He emphasized that this investment would significantly contribute to making Quebec a global leader in clean aviation.

Martin Larose, CEO of H55, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Invest Québec as a strategic partner, noting that this partnership is a crucial step in scaling up the company’s operations.
