Griesser, a Swiss company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea, has played a crucial role in transforming a former terraced house in Barcelona into the first CO2-neutral passive house in the city. This innovative project, dubbed “ShowPass,” was undertaken by the Barcelona-based Energiehaus Arquitectos, focusing on energy-efficient renovations. The building, now a model of CO2 neutrality, received certifications from Ecómetro and the Passive House Institute, showcasing its adherence to high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability.

For this project, Energiehaus Arquitectos selected Griesser’s Metalunic Sinus venetian blinds for external sun protection. These blinds not only contribute to the building’s energy efficiency by regulating sunlight and heat but also add a creative touch to its design, harmonizing with the larch wood façade. Micheel Wassouf, CEO of Energiehaus Arquitectos, highlighted the dual purpose of the solar shading solutions, emphasizing their role in both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Griesser AG, with its headquarters in Aadorf, Thurgau, manufactures its products in Switzerland, Austria, and France, distributing them to over 20 countries. This project in Barcelona stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovative solutions in the field of solar protection.
