Keurig Dr Pepper has recently partnered with Delica AG, a Swiss company under Migros, to adopt CoffeeB technology, marking a significant move towards sustainability in the beverage industry.
CoffeeB, introduced in 2022 by Delica AG, revolutionizes single-serve coffee by eliminating capsules. Instead, it utilizes a small ball of compressed coffee, reducing waste significantly. Delica AG, known for its 60 years of expertise in sustainable food and beverage production, processes around 15,000 tonnes of coffee annually, upholding Swiss quality standards.
In this partnership, Keurig Dr Pepper gains exclusive rights to utilize CoffeeB technology for plastic- and aluminum-free coffee pods in North America. By integrating Delica’s innovative alginate coating, Keurig Dr Pepper aims to enhance sustainability in over 130 million households.
Frank Wilde, Head of CoffeeB, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to revolutionize the coffee market sustainably. Delica AG continues to forge global partnerships to scale up the alginate technology, furthering its mission to eliminate capsule waste worldwide.
