Bucher Municipal, part of the internationally operating Swiss engineering group Bucher Industries, has made a significant eco-friendly stride at its Ventspils, Latvia site. They’ve installed 1,422 solar panels, aimed at reducing annual energy consumption by 17% to 20%. This endeavor aligns with Bucher Industries’ overarching mission to cut CO2 emissions by 10% before 2026.
The Ventspils facility’s new 500 kW solar park is now operational, marking a vital step in their commitment to decreasing their carbon footprint and adopting sustainable energy practices. Key benefits include energy independence, lowering purchased electricity and thus reducing CO2 emissions, and providing about 17%-20% of the plant’s annual electricity needs.
This forward-thinking approach reflects Bucher Industries’ dedication to sustainability and embracing green energy solutions. Bucher Municipal Latvia’s facility head, Andris Grinbergs, emphasized the strategic importance of this project for energy security and price stability while underlining their responsibility toward the environment.
As the sole Bucher Industries group company in the Baltics and a prominent Latvian mechanical engineering entity, their endeavor contributes to achieving Bucher Industries’ broader goal of CO2 reduction, underpinning their commitment to greener, more sustainable business practices.
