Swiss power producer Alpiq has decided to sell its 5.5-MWp rooftop photovoltaic (PV) portfolio to focus on its core operations. The portfolio, consisting of seven installations in the cantons of Fribourg, Solothurn, and Vaud, has been sold to PS Panneaux Solaires SA, part of the Gefiswiss Energy Transition Fund. The financial details were not disclosed.

These installations generate an average of 5.6 GWh of clean electricity per year. With this sale, Alpiq aims to concentrate on flexibility solutions to integrate renewable energies, expand energy storage facilities, and produce winter electricity. The company will no longer plan, build, or operate solar systems that do not align with its core activities.

This move aligns with Alpiq’s strategy to enhance its focus on key areas and streamline its operations. The company emphasized that this decision will help it better support the energy transition and contribute more effectively to a sustainable future.
