Kuehne+Nagel, a Swiss logistics company, introduces a groundbreaking Book & Claim solution for road logistics customers adopting Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to reduce transport emissions. This initiative complements their existing Sea and Air Logistics options featuring maritime biofuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

The comprehensive Book & Claim for HVO aligns with Kuehne+Nagel’s commitment to science-backed emission reduction targets, contributing to a more sustainable logistics industry. Developed in collaboration with external partners, the solution underwent rigorous scientific testing, drawing on the company’s extensive experience in Sea and Air Logistics.

Hansjörg Rodi, Board Member for Road Logistics, emphasizes, “Expanding our low-emission solutions is crucial for our Roadmap 2026’s Living ESG pillar. Customers opting for HVO actively reduce carbon emissions across their value chains, fostering demand for low-emission technologies and expediting road logistics decarbonization.”

Initially available to European customers, the Book & Claim for HVO aims to extend its reach beyond Europe in 2024. The team is actively exploring the integration of electric vehicles, with Rodi expressing confidence in transitioning to battery-electric vehicles by the end of 2023.

Kuehne+Nagel’s Book & Claim initiative for HVO empowers customers to make sustainable choices, supporting the broader goal of a greener and more environmentally responsible logistics sector.
